1. Drafting
Identify the public authority and draft your query.
2. Fee Payment
Attach the required application fee (usually ₹10).
3. Submission
Submit to the Public Information Officer (PIO).
4. Processing
PIO examines the request and gathers data.
5. Response
Information provided within 30 days (standard).
6. First Appeal
Filed if info is denied or delayed beyond 30 days.
7. Second Appeal
Filed with the Information Commission (CIC/SIC).
8. Resolution
Final directive issued by the Commission.
